A Walk from Chislehurst in South-East London
The walk is a stroll through woods, parks and open spaces in SE London, nominally Kent. We start and end at Chislehurst railway station. The famous Chislehurst caves are near the station, but we will not visit them on this occasion. I can promise you a brook, 2 memorials, a spooky house, a moat, and a surprising number of bears!.
We will have a picnic lunch in a picnic area, but there are no toilets. There is a pub about 10 mins walk away, but it is not on the actual route. There are toilets in the station and there is a good pub and a good café a short walk from the station which I hope we will have time to visit at the end of the walk.
Meet at Ealing Broadway station at 9.00am. The train to Chislehurst is from Charing X at 10.01, so we can start the walk around 10.45. I plan to go to Ch X via Lizline and Northern Line. Holders of Freedom Pass can use this all the way to Chislehurst. Others will need to buy a day return Ch X to Chislehurst in advance.
